Boris' experience of more than 15 years in the field of real estate makes him an industry expert not only for transactions but for real estate project development, advising clients such as developers and institutional investors on the entire life cycle of real estate projects - from pre-examination of building sites in particular under aspects of zoning, building and environmental law and preliminary agreements, all the way to handover/acceptance and sale. Boris also advises on alternative arrangements to purchase and sale; such as forward structures and investor models.
Another main pillar of Boris' work is advisory on regulatory and public law matters in the fields of renewable energy and infrastructure. This includes transactions and ongoing asset management pertaining to onshore wind and solar parks. Boris is also part of the Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure (ENRI) team of Simmons & Simmons in Germany.

Advising Panattoni Europe on a set of project developments of logistics warehouses in Germany for Amazon
Advising AEW on the acquisition of an office building complex in Munich
Advising a pan-European private equity investor with respect to asset management topics pertaining to their wind farm portfolios, including advice on several of the first wind farm repowering projects in Germany
Advising international strategic investors/operating businesses with respect to the development of new laboratory and R&D buildings in Germany (industry sectors: automotive, pharmaceutical)
Advising data center developers, operators and investors on their investment and development activities in Germany (in particular VIRTUS Data Centres on its market entry in Germany and Infranity on an investment related to Germany).
Boris joined Simmons & Simmons as a partner in the Frankfurt office in February 2021. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for major international law firms in Frankfurt. He read law at the Universities of Potsdam and Paris (Licencié en Droit), qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) in 2007 and accomplished the exam for public notaries in 2020.
On 7 November 2022, he was officially appointed as a notary by the President of the Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.
Boris regularly publishes in numerous journals such as Recht der Energiewirtschaft, Neue Zeitschrift für Miet- und Wohnungsrecht, Deutscher Anwaltspiegel and others. Since 2021, Boris has been continuously awarded “Best Lawyer for Real Estate in Germany” every year. He is a co-author of a commentary on Germany's Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Act - EEG-Handkommentar (editors: Baumann/Gabler/Günther), published in 2020 (publishing house: Nomos).
