Established over 30 years ago, our office in Milan has provided a growing Italian and international client base with a full range of legal services spanning financial services and regulatory, banking, debt capital markets, securitisation, restructuring, corporate, private equity, fund formation, real estate, dispute resolution, intellectual property, antitrust, administrative law, employment, and tax-related work in our core sectors (Asset Management and Investment Funds, Financial Institutions, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Technology, Media and Telecommunications).

As the Italian economy continues to rally, international investors’ interest in Italian companies keeps growing, along with the appetite of domestic investors for opportunities.

Led by country head Andrea Accornero, the Simmons & Simmons team in Italy comprising more than 90 people uses its legal expertise and understanding of the market to tackle clients’ business challenges and helps them maximise the opportunities. The Milan office is also home to our Japan and Asia desk in Italy, led by Dario Spinella and our Israeli desk, led by Ariel Nachman.

Japan Desk: supporting business and investment between Italy and Japan

Launched in 2015 by partner Dario Spinella, our Milan office’s Japan Desk is a strategic initiative designed to enhance our legal services. It supports Italian clients with their investments in Japan and assists Japanese clients conducting business in Italy, including as part of multi-jurisdictional projects involving our wider network. With Japanese language capabilities, the Japan Desk ensures authentic and effective communication, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps.
