Our story
In 1896, Simmons & Simmons was founded in London by newly qualified, 21-year-old twins Percy and Edward Simmons. Their ambitious and tenacious spirit continued into the twentieth century and beyond; we’ve never stopped learning, growing and adapting.
Our history is rich - but it’s our future that fascinates us. As technology continues to challenge and reshape our industry, we’re carving an innovative way forward for legal services. Our Solutions International Practice Group is a team of data scientists, developers, and designers offering innovative solutions to legal problems faced by our clients. Meanwhile, Simmons Wavelength - the world’s first regulated firm of legal engineers - uses new technologies to transform our commercial and operational performance.
One such innovation is our firm’s very own internal generative AI tool. Named after one of our founding twins, Percy, it symbolises how we’re blending our deep heritage of legal expertise with the dynamism and ambition of our culture to build a next generation law firm.
