Yves joined Simmons & Simmons with his team in November 2026 after practising for 36 years at another international law firm, including almost 28 years as a partner. He has been a real estate partner for over 25 years and is widely recognised as one of Belgium's leading real estate practitioners. He heads the firm's real estate practice in Belgium.
He has extensive experience in real estate investments and divestments and advises clients on all related matters, including public procurement, financing, taxation, construction, M&A, notarial law, development projects, leases, financial and VAT leasing, and the structuring of real estate projects and joint ventures. Together with his team, he assists clients with both real estate and corporate real estate transactions. When required, he also represents clients in real estate disputes before Belgian courts and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
More broadly, throughout his career, Yves has regularly advised clients across a wide range of industries on major M&A transactions, complex joint ventures and shareholders' agreements. He has recently played a leading role in significant transactions in the defence and hydrogen sectors.
