International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its Brussels real estate practice with the appointment of Yves Moreau as a Partner, along with a team of four associates.
Joining from a global law firm, Yves is one of Belgium’s leading real estate lawyers, with extensive experience advising on major real estate investments and divestments, developments and complex transactions. His practice spans corporate real estate, M&A and joint ventures, financing, construction, leasing and public procurement matters.
Yves is ranked Band 1 for real estate in both Chambers and Legal 500. He advises Belgian and international corporates, institutional investors, developers and financial institutions, with particular expertise across senior housing, logistics and industrial real estate, as well as financial leasing.
Yves’ arrival will significantly expand Simmons & Simmons’ real estate capabilities in Belgium, adding an established transactional practice in a key European market. His practice will complement the firm’s existing corporate, finance and tax capabilities in Brussels, while creating further opportunities to support domestic and international clients on complex, cross-border real estate transactions.
Yves will be supported by four associates: Laura Vervier (Managing Associate), Ségolène Michel (Associate) Caroline Bontinck (Associate) and Noor Spapen (Associate).
Simmons & Simmons’ Brussels office has seen major growth this year: Yves Moreau is the fourth lateral partner hire in 2026, following the appointments of Stefan Nerinckx (employment), Laurent Voisot (tax) and Koen Vanhaerents (corporate).
Commenting on the hire, Eric Blomme, Country Head Belgium, said: "Yves is one of the leading real estate lawyers in the Belgian market and it’s great to welcome him to Simmons & Simmons. His market-leading expertise and impressive client relationships will significantly enhance our real estate capabilities in Brussels and complement the continued growth of our wider transactional practice. Yves’ arrival represents another important step in the growth of our Belgian offering."
On joining Simmons & Simmons, Yves Moreau commented: "Simmons & Simmons has clear ambitions for the growth of its European real estate practice, and I am excited to support this expansion. The firm’s international platform and strength across corporate, finance and tax provide a compelling proposition for clients, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the network to develop the practice further."
