10 Brexit M&A implications

A look at some of the M&A implications now that the UK has left the EU.

The structure and execution of private M&A transactions should not be materially impacted by Brexit. This is because EU-derived legislation plays little part in the laws governing these transactions.

Brexit may in fact be a driver for M&A activity as a way of resolving some of the issues relating to cross-border trade and cross-border provision of services, for both regulated and indeed non-regulated entities.
