Amir is the co-Global Head of Simmons & Simmons LLP’s international arbitration practice.

Amir has a broad international arbitration practice spanning commercial and construction disputes administered under the rules of all major arbitral institutions. His experience covers more than 100 international arbitrations, with a particular focus on disputes in the energy, construction, commodities (chemicals and metals), mining, and pharmaceuticals sectors.

Amir has been recognised for over a decade for his work in the field of international arbitration by, amongst others, Chambers Global; Chambers UK; The Legal 500–EMEA; The Legal 500–UK; Who’s Who Legal: International Arbitration; and Who’s Who Legal: The Guide to the World’s Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration. In 2022, Amir was voted as International Arbitration Lawyer of the Year (United Arab Emirates) by Global Law Awards.

Amir regularly sits as an Arbitrator (including as Presiding and Sole arbitrator), under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), and the United National Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). He has had more than 45 appointments as arbitrator. He has also sat as a Mediator on complex construction disputes under the rules of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).
