Jonathan is an Associate in our EU, Competition and Trade practice based in Brussels. He advises on a wide range of topics in relation to EU and Belgian competition law, as well as trade defence matters.
Jonathan’s practice covers the full spectrum of EU and Belgian competition law, including assisting in cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, state aid matters and foreign subsidies and merger control. In addition, Jonathan regularly advises clients in trade defence cases before the European Commission and the EU Courts.
Jonathan holds a master’s degree from the University of Antwerp and an LL.M. in European Law from the College of Europe, Bruges. Before joining Simmons & Simmons, Jonathan worked for an international and Belgian law firm specialised in EU and Belgian competition and trade law. Jonathan also trained at the tech merger unit of the European Commission prior to his admission to the Brussels Bar in April 2022. Jonathan is qualified in Belgium and speaks fluent Dutch, English and French.
