Ioannis is an Associate in the Asset Management & Investment Funds practice of Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg. He advises funds managers on the structuring, formation, marketing, and operation of a broad range of regulated and unregulated alternative investment funds, including real estate, private equity, infrastructure, and debt funds.

Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons in 2024, Ioannis worked as a Funds Lawyer at a leading Luxembourg law firm, with a particular focus on Part II Funds. He has also accumulated significant financial regulatory experience, having previously interned and worked as legal counsel in global financial institutions, namely, the World Bank in Washington D.C. and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where among other tasks, he provided legal advice on international economic development, corporate law and financial regulatory issues affecting asset managers.

Ioannis is qualified to practice law in Luxembourg (Avocat au Barreau de Luxembourg – Liste IV), New York (Attorney and Counselor at Law – New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division) and Greece (Dikegoros – Athens Court of First Instance). He has an interdisciplinary academic background, holding: i) a Master of Laws from Columbia Law School; ii) a Master in Law and Finance from the University of Frankfurt; iii) a Bachelor of Laws from the Law School of the University of Athens; and iv) a minor degree in Finance from the American College of Greece.

He speaks English and French fluently and is a native Greek speaker.
