Practicing since 2010, Bart has acquired a wealth of experience in both regulatory and transactional work across the full spectrum of fund structures, including both public funds (UCITS and ETFs) and private funds (AIFs) in the private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure space.

On the transactional side, Bart assist clients on fund structuring and set-ups, including obtaining the necessary approvals from the CSSF, mergers & acquisitions, marketing and distribution, investor negotiations, debt financing and investment and divestment transactions.

On the regulatory side, he advises clients on a wide variety of topics such as UCITS, AIFMD, MIFID 2, AML, the set-up and governance of regulated investment fund managers and, most recently, the transition towards more sustainable finance.

Bart also teaches part-time at the Law Faculty of the KU Leuven, where he lectures a course on Funds & Investment Management for Master and LLM Students.

Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons in September 2024, Bart worked as a Counsel in the investment funds practice of a Magic Circle firm.
