Terence specialises in commercial disputes and white collar crime investigations and defence. He has experience as a transactional lawyer in the financial products and derivatives space and is well suited to handle disputes for financial institutions.

Terence has a wealth of trial and appellate advocacy experience handling a broad range of court disputes.

He was previously a debt capital markets and ISDA / derivatives practitioner, and thus gained financial transaction experience advising banks and financial institutions on documentation relating to bonds, warrants, structured notes and derivatives products, including the master agreement, schedule and confirmations of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association Inc (ISDA).

This provides him with a combination of financial products technical expertise and dispute resolution experience, making him well placed to represent banks in disputes or regulatory enquiries / investigations concerning complex financial instruments.

In his investigations work, he frequently undertakes large scale investigations in respect of internal and external wrongdoing. As an example, he investigated large scale syndicated fraud on life insurance companies by insurance agents who use hundreds of phantom agents and policy holders to extract unjustified commission payments.

As a criminal defence lawyer, Terence is frequently engaged by corporations, professionals and high net worth individuals to defend them in criminal proceedings. He has also been appointed by regulatory authorities in prosecutions for regulatory breaches.

Terence’s investigations and criminal law experience provides an additional dimension of insight in the advice provided to corporate clients that other traditional or purely civil disputes lawyers would not have.
