Izzy Tennyson is a Supervising Associate in Simmons & Simmons’ UK Digital Business team, dual‑qualified in England & Wales and Ireland. She advises clients across the TMT, financial services and consumer sectors on a broad range of technology, commercial and data protection matters, with a particular focus on emerging technologies and responsible digital transformation.

Izzy has developed strong experience in AI‑related legal and governance issues, supporting clients as they assess, procure and deploy AI systems. Her work includes advising on the practical application of the EU AI Act and global regulatory frameworks, helping clients navigate transparency obligations, data‑governance requirements, model‑risk controls and contractual risk allocation. She also regularly assists with AI procurement and contracting, including the negotiation of specialist clauses and the development of governance materials and playbooks.

Alongside her AI practice, Izzy advises on commercial technology arrangements, outsourcing, licensing, intra‑group agreements, digital platforms and broader data‑protection compliance. Her work is shaped by in‑house experience gained during a secondment to the General Counsel Office of a FTSE 250 company, where she supported a range of technology, commercial and governance projects.

Izzy is recognised as a key lawyer in Simmons & Simmons’ Band 1‑ranked AI practice (Legal500). She serves as AI Champion for the UK Digital Business team, leads the Dublin office’s AI offering and co‑leads the firm’s AI Contracts & Transactions initiative. She also contributes to internal and client‑facing guidance on AI governance and contracting.
