Samuel is an associate in the Disputes & Investigations team in London and a member of the firm’s contentious ESG practice.
Samuel advises corporates and individuals on complex criminal and regulatory investigations and proceedings, with experience advising in relation to investigations run by the Serious Fraud Office, the Police, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, HMRC, the Insolvency Service and US Department of Justice. He also regularly advises on the application of key financial crime legislation including bribery, fraud, sanctions and money laundering compliance.
As part of the wider Disputes & Investigations team he also maintains a broader practice which has included advising on shareholder claims under s.90 and s.90A FSMA, international arbitration (under the LCIA and ICC rules) and on opt-out and umbrella proceedings in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Samuel has a master's degree in biochemistry from the University of York.
