Grace is a managing associate in the Funds department of Simmons & Simmons, Dublin since 2019. Prior to this, she was a senior Funds associate in the Dublin office of a market-leading international law firm.

Grace has significant experience assisting clients with the establishment of a variety of fund types, ranging from broadly offered retail funds to private funds aimed at small groups of sophisticated investors and family offices, across every major asset class, liquid and illiquid.

Day to day, Grace focuses on the establishment, structuring, ongoing operation and regulation of UCITS and AIFs (whether structured as ILPs, ICAVs, public limited companies, unit trusts or common contractual funds). Her clients include a wide variety of asset managers and investment banks and has extensive experience in the authorisation and approval of UCITS management companies, alternative investment fund managers and investment managers.

Prior to taking up her training contract, Grace worked for two years in the Central Bank of Ireland and she continues to maintain strong linkages with former colleagues.

Grace has completed three international secondments, initially as a trainee solicitor in the Cayman Islands head office of her training firm gaining extensive experience in non-Irish structures and the laws and regulations of both US and offshore jurisdictions. Subsequently she assisted two large US asset managers based in London – one with a particular Central Bank themed regulatory inspection and the second with day to day operations, BAU legal advices as well as multiple new (Irish) funds authorisation/post-authorisation workstreams. More recently, she was seconded to the largest third-party management company in Ireland where she spearheaded a number of corporate cross-border restructuring initiatives as well as providing legal support to their UK operations (ACD services and regulatory initiatives including the implementation of UK Consumer Duty).
