Rowlands

Heather is a partner in the Tax group, based in London and specialising in litigation and dispute resolution. She is dual qualified as a solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser, and has extensive experience conducting litigation against revenue authorities across all major areas of taxation, including corporate taxes, partnership taxation, employment taxes, VAT, environmental taxes and tax procedure.

Heather acts for a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, asset managers, insurers and environmental service providers both in the UK and internationally.

Heather trained with Simmons & Simmons and qualified in 2009, before gaining further experience in the tax litigation practice of a Big 4 accountancy firm. She re-joined Simmons & Simmons in December 2014.

She is recognised in Legal 500 2025 as a “Next Generation Partner” and described as “a standout partner in terms of her diligence and attention to detail.” Chambers & Partners 2026 notes that “She's collaborative, acutely intelligent and a real pleasure to work with.”

Heather holds a law degree from the University of Oxford and is a regular contributor to industry events.
