Emily is a managing associate in the Disputes & Investigations team with extensive experience in complex, high-value disputes, including litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations. She acts for clients across a range of sectors, including finance, technology, infrastructure, commodities, energy and natural resources. Emily’s work often requires her to manages multiple parallel proceedings, spanning several jurisdictions.

Emily has particular expertise in disputes relating to complex contractual breaches, mis-selling/misrepresentation, mismanagement and securities law breaches.

Her practice also encompasses mass claims, where she acts for both defendants and class representatives in large-scale, multi-jurisdictional proceedings, including environmental and human rights related actions. She regularly advises clients in relation to litigation risk management across the corporate structure.

Emily also advises on ESG-related litigation and risk management, including greenwashing claims and compliance with evolving regulatory standards. She has supported clients in responding to NGO complaints, managing reputational risks, and developing policies to address environmental and human rights obligations.

Emily’s experience is enhanced by secondments to leading financial institutions and a global environmental NGO, providing her with valuable insight into the internal workings and strategic priorities of her clients.

She was a member of the team awarded Commercial Litigation Team of the Year (Legal Business Awards), Litigation Team of the Year (The Lawyer Awards), and Banking Litigation Team of the Year (Legal Week Commercial Litigation & Arbitration Awards) in 2019 for successfully defending Grant Thornton and others against claims brought by the Tchenguiz brothers relating to the collapse of Kaupthing Bank. In 2020, she was recognised in the Legal 500 rankings as a key lawyer in Simmons & Simmons’ financial markets disputes team.
