Andrea is a Counsel in our Düsseldorf office. She advises national and international clients on all aspects of intellectual property and commercial law with a strong focus on patent law. Andrea represents clients before the German courts and the Unified Patent Court.
Relevant experience includes:
- representing a US/German pharmaceutical company in their dispute against generics over the market entry despite patent infringement before the German courts, and coordinating the Europe-wide national litigations in this matter
- representing a Czech/US engine manufacturer in their dispute on commission payments before the German courts
- representing a South Korean biopharmaceutical company before the Unified Patent Court in a dispute over an alleged patent infringement
- representing a Danish medical device manufacturer in proceedings over damage claims before the Unified Patent Court
- representing a German ventilation manufacturer in a dispute over an alleged patent infringement before the German courts
- advising a Taiwanese computer manufacturer on trademark questions
- advising a French pharmaceutical company on questions of patent law
Andrea joined Simmons & Simmons in 2018. She studied law in Cologne, Barcelona and Düsseldorf and was awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in intellectual property law. Before joining our firm, she worked as in-house counsel of a European retail company.
Andrea is a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC), which became operational on 1 June 2023.
