International law firm Simmons & Simmons has successfully advised the financing banks in a transaction involving the sale of a majority interest in several special purpose entities of Enpal B.V.

The deal represents a strategic transaction for the Enpal Group, including mezzanine and senior loans for a total asset value of approximately €1.5 billion.

Enpal is one of the fastest-growing green-tech companies worldwide and Germany's first "green-tech unicorn," specialising in solar energy systems, energy storage solutions, and charging infrastructure for private households.

The complex deal required the expertise of the Simmons team to navigate the challenges posed by the majority stake. The firm's role was pivotal in advising on the various aspects of the financing structures within the Enpal group, ensuring a seamless transition.

The Simmons team was led by Dr. Jens Gölz, who brought his extensive experience and knowledge in corporate finance and renewable energy law to the forefront of this deal. He was supported by associates Isabel Ribeiro Mousinho and Samuel Aladar.

Dr. Jens Gölz commented: “This transaction highlights Simmons & Simmons' commitment to providing top-tier legal services and its capability to handle high-value, complex deals in the renewable energy sector. The firm's involvement in this significant phase of Enpal B.V.'s growth trajectory underscores its position as a trusted advisor in the legal landscape.”
