Briefing Note - Law No. 1 of 2019 - Organising Foreign Investment in the Economic Activities in the State of Qatar.
Introduction
On 07 January 2019 H.H. the Emir issued Law No. 1 of 2019 Organising Foreign Investment in the Economic Activities in the State of Qatar (New Foreign Investment Law). The main Ministry with oversight of this new law is the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (the MCI). The law was published in the Official Gazette on 24 January 2019 and came into force on 24 February 2019. It is not known when the Executive Regulations that will accompany the new law will be published.
