Hannah is a Dubai-based partner and leads our Middle East Tax team. She advises on a broad range of tax matters, including direct and operational taxes, tax disputes, as well as tax policy and regulatory work supporting the implementation of new tax laws and frameworks.
Hannah supports a wide range of clients, with particular focus on the Financial Institutions and Asset Management & Investment Funds sectors alongside clients focused on real estate.
Hannah is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.
Hannah previously worked at Big Four firms in London and Dubai advising a broad range of international clients, including leading financial institutions, asset managers, insurers, and regulators. She became a partner in 2016 and held multiple leadership roles, including serving as the Middle East & North Africa Financial Services Tax Leader at her previous firm.
Relevant experience includes advising:
- Global banks, brokers and investment groups on corporation tax matters.
- UAE financial institutions and companies on the implementation of UAE corporation tax.
- Financial institutions in the Middle East and Europe on audits, investigations and disputes with tax authorities and regulators, including Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS) compliance audits.
- Leading financial institutions across the banking and capital markets, insurance, asset management and SWF sectors in the MENA region (global and MENA headquartered) on operational tax matters, including FATCA and CRS.
- MENA-based regulators, ministries and tax authorities on the implementation of FATCA, CRS and other tax regulatory requirements.
- Consortium of 76 KSA financial institutions for the implementation and drafting of industry guidelines of the CRS, and engagement lead for SAMA-sponsored consortium to implement FATCA within KSA for the banking and insurance sector.
