International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the hiring of Joseph Wren as a partner in its derivatives and trading practice in London.
A highly regarded derivatives lawyer, Joseph has built a reputation acting for leading private markets firms on their derivatives and trading requirements. He joins Simmons after fourteen years at a London-based law firm, including 5 years as partner.
Joseph's clients include major private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate firms, as well as global financial institutions, asset managers and institutional asset owners.
This new partner hire will further enhance the capabilities of Simmons' derivatives and trading practice, which is recognised as one of the leading buy-side advisory and transactional teams in the City.
The Simmons practice supports clients in every aspect of trading derivatives and other complex financial products in global markets, including crypto assets, as well as on the intricate regulations governing financial markets transactions. Clients include leading asset managers (across hedge, institutional and private assets) as well as some of the world's largest investors - central banks, insurers, pension schemes and sovereign wealth funds.
Joseph's wide expertise advising on the use of derivatives and securities financing techniques in private markets represents a significant boost to the practice, allowing the firm to respond to clients' growing demand for its services in this space. Joseph will take up the role at Simmons on 7 November.
