Simmons advises Lionheart Capital on Sunseeker deal

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised US private equity firm Lionheart Capital.

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised US private equity firm Lionheart Capital on its acquisition of renowned British boatbuilder Sunseeker International.

Owned for 11 years by Chinese firm Dalian Wanda Group, Sunseeker has been jointly acquired by Lionheart Capital and Italian private equity firm Orienta Capital Partners. Under the deal, Sunseeker will retain its UK headquarters and production facilities.

Lionheart Capital is a Miami-based private equity firm. Its principals have been involved in the successful acquisition, development, repositioning and disposition of real estate and publicly traded assets for over 30 years.
The transaction was supported by a multidisciplinary, cross-border Simmons team, involving specialists across corporate, competition and regulatory, and banking practices.

The team was led by corporate partner Arthur Stewart, supported by a team including managing associate Geraint Steyn. Further support was provided by partner Elliot Beard and team in banking, partner David Trapp and team in competition, and partner Zoe Arnautov in tax. In addition, Ariel Nachman provided support as client relationship partner.
