International law firm Simmons & Simmons were lead advisers to Mantoverde S.A. on its comprehensive US $847m secured bank/ECA-backed debt and equity financing package which closed in February 2021. Proximo has awarded this deal Latin America mining deal of the year, find out more here.
The significant financing package will fund the expansion of the existing copper oxide operations and construction of a copper sulphide concentrator project at Mantoverde’s existing mining operations located in the Atacama region of Chile. This was the largest mining project financing since the onset of COVID-19.
